Each week a child has the opportunity to be the “Zebra of the Week” in our classroom. Using a poster board, your child will make a poster about him/herself including such things as name, family, friends, hobbies, favorite things, and pictures. Posters may be decorated in any manner (crayons, markers, glitter, magazine pictures, stickers, yarn, etc.). On Monday of your child’s assigned week he/she will bring in the poster to share with the class. The poster will be put on display for that week.
This will also be your child’s opportunity to bring in a favorite toy, trophy, award etc. for sharing. The sharing of items like this will be done on Friday of the child’s designated week. The schedule is on the back of this page.
To summarize, on Monday your child will share their poster, which will then be displayed, and on Friday they will share an item (toy, trophy etc.) brought from home. If your child’s zebra week is a week when we are not at school on Monday, they will share their poster on Tuesday. If we are not at school on Friday, they will share their item on Thursday.
